Taylor Racing WSORR FCP Brush Run Report
Belvidere, IL (June 26, 2007) - Scott Taylor came to Crandon with
back-to-back wins in Minnesota, and was looking to extend his lead in
his quest of the 2007 World Series of Off-Road Racing PRO-2WD
championship.

Round
3
The drop of the flag saw Scott Taylor follow Mike Oberg, and Dan
Vandenhuvel out of Turn One and down the front straightaway. The next
fifteen laps saw Scott and his #8 Skyjacker BFGoodrich Tires 2007 Ford
F-150 battle Vandenhuvel for the second spot. On the final lap, Scott
made the pass for position on Vandenhuvel as the two went over the
Boss Snow Plow jump. Then as the two trucks came into the final turn,
contact was made and Scott came across the Skyjacker Suspension Finish
Line with Vandenhuvel on top of Scott’s hood. WSORR officials had to
review the video to determine that Scott Taylor finished just ahead of
Vandenhuvel for second place.
Afterwards, Scott Taylor talked with BUMPRACER.COM about the wild
finish.

“We had a good race today. Once again the competition was intense. I
had a hard time getting around Vandenhuvel. He’s fast, but there was
plenty of blocking. Then add the roost from trucks in front of me,
suddenly this made the track very narrow. I made a clean pass over the
Boss Snow Plow Jump and then he tried to push me out of the final
turn, but we held out ground and came home second. The Roush
powerplant ran great, the ATD trans kept us up front, the BFGoodrich
tires were awesome, and of course the Skyjacker engineered suspension
made the Ford F-150 easy to drive today.”

The start saw Scott battling with the #99 Kevin Probst for the lead.
On lap two, the #8 Skyjacker Ford made the pass stick to take over the
top spot. Unfortunately a few laps later, the engine in the #8 lost
oil pressure and quickly Scott pulled off the track, ending his race
early. Officially Scott finished in seventh place.
Quickly, with only a few hours before the FCP Chairman’s Cup Race,
Scott and his crew went to work replacing the powerplant. Along with
Mike Kasch and Alan Brenner, several individuals from Skyjacker and
Roush Performance assisted Taylor Racing with the engine change. As
the competitors were called to staging, Scott fired up the fresh Roush
Performance powerplant and took his position in the lineup.
Forest County Chairman’s Cup
This unique high stakes heavy metal challenge pits the four-wheel
drive trucks against the two-wheel drive trucks for one of the largest
paydays in short-course off-road racing. To makes the event more
interesting, the two-wheel drive trucks get a quarter mile head start
for the 10-lap affair.
The two-wheel drive trucks started out in front of the main
grandstands, LeMans style, which made things very interesting. At the
drop of the flag, a few of the trucks bounced off each other looking
to grab the early lead. The lead was taken by #99 Probst, with Oberg
and Taylor right behind. Within three laps, Scott began to shred a
left rear tire that was flattened from the starting line contact.
Quickly Scott came into the Hot Pits for a quick tire change, but the
lost time ended any chance for a top finish. At the checkered flag,
Scott finished seventh overall.
Currently Scott Taylor is 2nd place in the inaugural season of the
World Series of Off-Road Racing PRO-2WD Championship.

“I can’t thank my crew, family, friends and supporters who all pitched
in with the motor change. They gave me the chance not only to compete,
but the opportunity to go for the win. There was some contact on the
start, and that’s probably where the flat came from. The truck itself
doesn’t have any issues. The chassis setup is great. We’ll just get
back to the shop and perform the usual maintenance for Bark River.”
