Taylor Holds onto PRO-2 Lead

The perfect weather during the Boss Snowplow Island Casino Off-Road UP100 didn't seem to help Scott Taylor and his Taylor Racing team.

On Friday, Scott Taylor in his Skyjacker, BFGoodrich, Ford F-150 won the much-anticipated Skyjacker Long Jump Competition with a leap of 165 feet.

Round 9
On Saturday Round 9 started with 11 PRO-2 trucks ready to due battle on the infamous Upper Michigan racecourse. Just as the green flag dropped, Scott knew it would be a long round of racing. Almost immediately his power steering failed. Scott muscled his way through the round of racing, staying on the lead lap, finishing the day in 8th place.

This was first time since July 2002 that Scott Taylor has finished out of the top five.

Round 10
Sunday's race again was intense as the capacity crowd watch the PRO-2 truck as the thundered down into the first turn. After coming out of the first turn in 7th place, Scott and his Skyjacker, BFGoodrich, F-150 used his Roush Performance power plant to weave through traffic into the third spot. With two laps to go, Scott made the pass for second only to spun out putting him back to fourth place. On the last lap, as Scott pushed his truck to gain another position, the truck landed hard on the final jump causing the left rear wheel to break apart. The failure caused the truck to spin twice. Fortunately Scott gathered up the truck and finished 6th.

The weekend was a tough one for the #1 Skyjacker BFGoodrich Ford F-150, but with four rounds of competition to go, Scott Taylor holds a 10-point lead over Evan Evans.

"This weekend our team ran into some tough times. We know all good teams battle use this type of experience to build a better team, and our team will be ready for Crandon."-Scott Taylor.
