Taylor finishes season like a true champion.

New Berlin, WI – September 14, 2003

The permanent race facility in New Berlin, NY is one of the most demanding tracks in the Lucas Oil CORR series. The Unadilla Valley Sports Center track combines various terrain including, high speed straight-aways, demanding jumps, and elevation changes.

Going into the final two rounds of racing, Scott Taylor had already clinched the Pro-2 championship, but that didn’t slow down the Taylor Racing Mobil1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150. The team was prepared for the weekend as if were the opening rounds instead of the closing rounds of racing.

Round 13
Saturday’s starting grid had Scott on the inside of the fourth row. As the green flag dropped Taylor came out of the first turn in 4th place. On lap four, Scott worked his way up to 3rd and had his eyes set on the leaders. The hard charging Mobil 1, BFGoodrich, Ford F-150 was catching the leaders a little at a time every lap.
The white flag came out and Scott was on the bumper of Evan Evans. On the white flag lap, coming out of the last turn Scott went to the outside of Evans and made the pass for second place just as the two crossed the finish line.

Round 14
Sunday’s starting grid found Scott in the same spot on the grid as Saturday. When the green flag dropped, the power of the Roush powerplant and incredible traction of the BFGoodrich tires, enabled Scott to shoot through the pack and into 3rd place after the first turn.
By lap two, Scott was in the lead and never looked back. At the finish, Scott had a ½ lap cushion over second place.

The win was Scott’s sixth of the year.
In fact, Scott finished in the top 4 in all 13 rounds of the season. His season points total was 48 points ahead of the second place finisher, Carl Renezeder.

"This year was definitely our toughest championship to win. The combination of veterans like Renezeder and Vandenhuvel stepping up their programs, and the
addition of new drivers like Barlow and Bradley, really kept the team on its game. We could’ve put it on cruise control this weekend, but we’re also out here for the fans and our marketing partners….
To win the championship, it takes a total team effort. It is really true that there is no "I" in team, especially at Taylor Racing!" – Scott Taylor

TAYLOR WINS 5th STRAIGHT CORR CHAMPIONSHIP

 August 31, 2003 - Crandon, Wisconsin

Scott Taylor clinched the 2003 CORR Pro-2 championship here this weekend, making it his fifth straight title in the Championship Off Road Racing Series. Even with 2 more rounds of racing left nobody can touch the awesome power of Scott Taylor’s Mobil 1, BFGoodrich Ford F-150.

Round 11
Saturday, Scott started from the eighth position in the "famous" land rush start. Coming out of the Potowatomi Turn One, Scott was in second place right on the bumper of Kevin Probst. When Probst went wide in the CellCom Corner, Scott quickly dove on the inside and made a clean pass for the lead.
On the second lap Scott was experiencing some bad luck with a right rear tire going flat, but made the decision to stay out on the track. With the Championship winding down, maintaining a top 5 finish was the main priority. As the laps went by, Scott continued to stay near the front; eventually the Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 finished a very respectable 3rd place. This was quite an accomplishment considering Scott finished on three tires!

Round 12
Sunday, Scott came out of the Potowatomi Turn One in second place. By lap two, Scott passed the leader, and quickly began to build a healthy lead. Suddenly, bad luck struck again. Just past the halfway point of the race, the power steering went out. Scott muscled the Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 to the finish line with another 3rd place finish. The weekend’s consistent finishes and the never give-up attitude of Scott Taylor and his entire crew, enabled the team to clinch the Pro-2 Championship before the season ending rounds in New York.

Borg Warner World Championship
With Scott, the 2002 winner, being the second fastest two-wheel drive, started in second position for the Borg Warner World Championship race.
As the green flag dropped Taylor was side by side with Evan Evans and came out of the first turn in first place. The second lap Taylor was 5 seconds ahead of the first 4x4 of Curt Leduc. By the sixth lap the battle was on. Suddenly the 4x4s of Curt Leduc and Carl Renezeder were right on Scott’s rear bumper. Scott continued to hold off the charge until lap 8 when Renezeder made the pass for the lead.
On the white flag lap, Leduc made the pass for second, but Taylor was bound and determined to keep fighting. As Leduc and Scott came out of the CellCom Corner, Scott made an awesome outside, inside move to shoot past LeDuc. As the pass was made, hard contact caused Scott’s right rear tire and wheel assembly to break away from the rear axle. The race finished with Scott in 3rd place overall and the 1st two wheel drive to finish.
Scott Taylor afterwards, "I gave it my all, This Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 is just awesome. We got 3 thirds all weekend but we came here to do what we needed to do. We won another championship and proved to them all that this Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 4x2 can run with the 4x4s. This is definitely one tough truck!"

Taylor continues to increase his points lead at Bark River.

August 10, 2003 – Bark River, Michigan

The UP Off-Road 100 presented by Island Resort & Casino in Bark River, Michigan was the site for Round 9 & 10. The weekend saw Scott Taylor extend his championship lead to 38 points over second place.

Round 9
The land rush start found Scott in 4th place after the 1st turn sweeper. As he completed the
first lap, Scott was in 2nd place with his sights set on the leader. On lap 5, Scott made an
aggressive move to pass for the lead, but was given the black flag for being too aggressive.
After coming in for the stop-n-go penalty, he was given another black flag for leaving the pit
area too fast. After taking the second black flag penalty, Scott found himself directly behind
the new leader Larry Gourlie. After running nose to tail, Scott made a clean pass on the last
lap to take the win.  The win was the 33rd CORR career win for Scott Taylor and his Mobil 1
BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150.

Round 10
The land rush start found a few of the competitors making contact as the group narrowed down
through the first turn. Unfortunately, Scott made contact with Kevin Probst, which destroyed the
left front wheel. Fortunately, Scott was able to get to the pits where the Taylor Racing Crew
was able to pry off the wheel from the control arm. When Scott returned to the track, he was
almost a full lap behind the leader. As he continued to pursue the lead group, it began to rain.
As the rain fell and the track became more difficult to master, Scott and his Mobil 1 BFGoodrich
Ford F-150 began to catch the leaders. The wet, slick conditions, Scott had experienced over the
years at Bark River, gave him an advantage over most of the other competitors. At the finish,
Scott Taylor finished a very respectable 4th, after being dead last after the first lap.

As the weekend ended, Scott said, “This weekend was a total team effort. Saturday the truck was
flawless, the Roush prepared Mobil 1 lubricated engine really kept us in front…. Sunday the crew
really kept me in the game with terrific pit work and the BFGoodrich tires hooked up in the rain
giving us the chance for a respectable finish.”

Win a 1st place win and a 4th place finish; Scott is now 38 points ahead of second place. The
next weekend of racing is August 30-31 for the Borg-Warner Championships in Crandon, Wisconsin.
Scott Taylor will also be competing in the Borg-Warner Heavy Metal Challenge, which Scott is
defending champion!

Taylor increases his points lead at Bark River.

July 12, 2003 - Bark River, Michigan
After another successful weekend of racing on the Lucas Oil Championship Off Road Racing Series trail, a win in Round 7 and second place in Round 8, Scott Taylor now leads the Pro-2 division
by 34 points.

The racetrack for the Boss Snowplow Off Road Challenge is a combination of high-speed straight-aways and jumps, as well as fast sweeping turns that tests both driver and truck. After the first practice session on Friday, the team made a couple of changes to the newly installed
MSD Ignition controlled Roush Engine.

Round 7 – Scott started in 8th position in his Mobil 1, BFGoodrich, Ford F-150. Once the dust settled on the land rush start, Scott found himself in the 4th spot. The fast, yet narrow track saw the first four trucks in a tight pack pulling away from the rest of the field. At the
halfway point of the race, Scott’s patience paid off as his was able to work his way into second place. Suddenly he found himself in the lead. The leader was issued a stop and go penalty for
passing in a yellow flag zone. The win was Scott’s third consecutive win of the year and 32nd
Pro-2 win of his career.

Round 8 – The land rush start began with a Dan Vandenhuvel getting pinched in going into the first turn. This sent his truck end over end over the safety wall and Scott high centered on the safety wall.  Due to this incident the race was red flagged.
Taylor pulled right back in line and with a clean restart came out of the 1st turn in 4th position. After a couple of laps into the race Taylor improved his position to 2nd place and had his sights on the leader. On the final turn of the last lap, Taylor caught up to the leader but
ran out of time and took home a respectable 2nd place win.

Taylor sweeps the field at Crandon

June 21, 2003- Crandon, Wisconsin

The perfect clear blue skies, with temperatures in the 80’s, made for an incredible weekend of racing the world famous Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. Scott Taylor and his Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 came away with two dominating wins at the Forest County Potowatomi Brush Run to take sole possession of first place in the Lucas Oil CORR Pro-2 standings.

Round 5 started with the famous land rush start. As the group headed for the first turn Taylor found himself in 4th place. By the end of lap one, the power of the Roush prepared engine and the superior traction of the BFGoodrich tires enabled Taylor to garner 2nd place.

After a few laps, Taylor was able to chase down leader Kevin Probst.  “The truck was absolutely awesome, we were able to pass for the lead on the outside, without having to “swap paint” with Kevin…”

The race ended with Scott Taylor in first; with a 18 second lead of the rest of the field.

Taylor says he dedicates this race to the awesome new BFGoodrich tires that keeps him in the lead and winning races.

Round 6 started the same way but came out of the Potowatomi Northern Lights Turn One in 2nd place after avoiding the spectacular multiple rollover of Tommy Bradley. Again he was chasing Kevin Probst. On lap 5, Taylor’s patience paid off, as he made a clean pass to continue on for his 3rd victory of the year.

With a clean sweep of Rounds 5 and 6 of the CORR Lucas Oil Pro Series, Taylor now leads the division by 16 points, 90 to 74 over Carl Renezeder.

The “clean sweep” of the weekend is due to his great crew as well as all the support his sponsors give the Taylor Off-Road Racing Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150.

Potowatomi North Lights Governor’s Cup Heavy Metal Challenge
There was one more race left on the program, The Potowatomi North Lights Governor’s Cup Heavy Metal Challenge.  As the defending champion, Scott Taylor did his best for a repeat.
Unfortunately, the track conditions were slicker than they were all weekend long, giving the 4-wheel drive Pro-4 trucks a definite advantage. As the race progressed Taylor held his ground, and finished 3rd overall and was the highest finishing 2-wheel truck. Congratulations to fellow BFGoodrich driver Johnny Greaves for the well fought win.

Strong finish puts Taylor atop the Leader Board! .....

June 9, 2003 – Antigo, WI
It was a rainy weekend in Antigo, Wisconsin for the Mole Lake Regency Casino Off Road Championship races.

Due to the wet and sloppy conditions of the track, the Scott Taylor race team bypassed the Saturday morning practice session. Fortunately for all CORR racers, the track began absorbing the excess moisture allowing for Round 3 to take place.

Round 3 started with the Scott Taylor Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 on the inside of the fifth row. With most of the Pro-2 field in front of him, Scott
decided to be conservative at the start of the race, and ended up in 7th position after the first corner.

Scott quickly moved up two positions by the second lap, and at the half way point of the race the Mobil 1 BFGoodrich Ford F-150 was in 3rd position.  With 5
laps remaining, Scott was in 2nd place with the leader, Carl Renezeder in his sights.

With the awesome power of the Roush powerplant, Scott was turning the fastest laps on the race. On the last lap, coming out of the final corner, Scott and the
leader were side by side. As they powered down the front straightaway going for the checkered flag, the two competitors were headed for a photo finish. In the end Scott Taylor and his Mobil1 BF Goodrich Tires Ford F-150 ended up in 2nd place just inches short of victory.

Scott Taylor commented …“ just one more turn and I would have had the race won, but it is still a victory for BFGoodrich with 1st and 2nd place trucks on BFGoodrich tires.”

Taylor also states that he feels so good to have such great sponsors such as Mobil 1, BFGoodrich, Ford Trucks, Justice Brothers, Precision Gear, ATD Transmission, Roush Racing, Boatec, Phils  Inc., PSI Performance, Ringer Gloves, Miller Electric, MSD Ignition, K&N Engineering, Auto Meter and Lancair on board to show case there products and for all their support.

Round 4 was cancelled due to the weather and will be rescheduled.

After 3 rounds of racing Scott Taylor is tied for 1st place in the Lucas Oil CORR Pro-2 Division!

Round 1 & 2
May 26, 2002 – Dresser, WI

On Memorial Day weekend it was the start of the 2003 Championship Off Road Racing series at the Trollhaugen Ski Resort in Dresser, Wisconsin. The perfect weather conditions gave the spectators an exciting show on a track that was extremely challenging for the racers.

The tricky ½ mile course consisted of two extreme elevation changes, a mogul section, and a fast main straightaway. The size and design of the track is nothing Scott Taylor and the CORR competitors had ever experienced.  After Saturday’s practice, crew chief Jeff Frana and Scott Taylor knew the Mobil1 BF Goodrich Tires Ford F-150 was dialed in for the weekend.

Sunday-Round 1
Scott was hyped up to begin the quest for the 2003 Pro-2 championship. As the green flag dropped Taylor made an aggressive move to get around the first corner, which landed him on his roof.  The race was red flagged and every one was repositioned in the same starting order.  At the restart, Scott made it through the first corner clean and in 6th position.  Quickly the track developed large holes in every corner. On the 3rd lap, while battling with several competitors, the sidewall on the left rear tire was punctured. A determined Scott Taylor continued the battle as the tire’s inner liner and the wheel’s bead lock did their job, keeping Scott not only in the race, but finishing a respectable 3rd place.

Monday -Round 2
The Mobil 1 Ford F150 started outside in the third row. Scott quickly ducked to the inside of the first corner and coming out in the third position. By the end of the first lap Taylor moved into 1st place. The Roush prepared engine took everything Scott gave it, quickly building a 7 second lead. The BF Goodrich tires performed flawlessly, and the ATD Transmission ran cool as the Mobil 1 BF Goodrich Tires Ford F-150 came home with a first place victory.
After the weekend, Scott Taylor finds himself in second place overall in the CORR Pro-2 standings. The two-point difference between Scott Taylor and Dan Vanden Heuvel with make the next two rounds of racing at the Mole Lake Regency Casino Championships in Antigo, Wisconsin very interesting.

The first round of CORR racing action will be televised on Speed TV July 10, at 10pm Eastern Time.
